Client Already Exists - Sage

When you try to add a client and get the error that says "Customer Name Must be Unique" this means that a client in Sage already exists with that name. You will then need to sync the client from Sage into SmartPractice and then enable them for the necessary services.


  1. The following error will occur when trying to add a client that already exists within Sage



  1. Go to the search bar and type "Sage Synchronisation"



  1. Click on Search



  1. Click on the Sage Synchronisation icon



  1. Search for the client name



  1. Click on Sync Clients by Name



  1. The client will then be synched from Sage to SmartPractice



  1. Go to the search bar and type "Enable Client"



  1. Click on Search



  1. Click on the Client Enable / Remove Icon



  1. Search for the client



  1. Click on Show Results



  1. Click on Not Enabled



  1. Update the necessary details and Services



  1. Click on Save and Update Client info



  1. Update the Client Info as needed



  1. Click on Save Details
