SmartPractice Client Data Management on DreamTax


The client data presented in DreamTax is pulled in from SARS directly and not from SmartPractice. You will need to merge your DreamTax database with SmartPractice databases.


Navigating the DreamTax Dashboard


  1. Click on the Overflow Menu ( ≡ )



  1. Click on Client Data



  1. Click on SmartPractice Management



  1. Click on Auto Match Clients



  1. Click on Confirm & Proceed



  1. If they do not auto-match, check on the drop-down menu, the names will appear here



  1. Click on Resync SmartPractice Clients if you amend client details in SmartPractice (Eg. Fix the IT number or mark for prov tax as service)



If you can not find a client under SmartPractice then either the client is not captured or the service is not activated for provisional tax.


Navigating the SmartPractice Dashboard


  1. Login to your SmartPractice Profile


  1. Type IT numbers



  1. Click on IT Numbers View & Update



  1. Enter the Income tax number



  1. Click on Update Details



  1. Click on the Side menu Icon



  1. Click on Initial Settings



  1. Click on Step by Step Setup



  1. Click on Step Five



  1. Check the box to mark the client for Provisional Tax



  1. Click on Save Changes
